We will head east, going uphill on a series of switchbacks, to Braley Hill Road, then continue downhill to Shindagin Hollow Road. At that point, we will encounter a washed-out footbridge across a creek. If the water level is low enough, we will ford the creek on stones and continue uphill to the Shindagin Lean-to where we will turn around. If we cannot safely cross the creek, we will turn around at Shindagin Hollow Road.

This hike includes 1500 ft of ascent/descent and is relatively long (7 or 8 miles), thus the “strenuous” rating.

As always, wear sturdy boots and dress in layers. If you typically use them, bring hiking poles. Bring snacks/lunch and water – we’ll stop for an early lunch break wherever we turn around.
