Hike Details:

Known for its marl ponds, streams, peat bog, beaver ponds, and diverse plant and wildlife, Lime Hollow Nature Center protects 430 acres of natural habitats. The valley’s “kame and kettle” topography, formed beneath glacial ice sheets, supports four distinct freshwater habitats: an acid heath bog, vernal ponds, “kettle” ponds, and spring-fed fens. A PDF map of trails at Lime Hollow is available here.

We meet at the parking lot on Gracie Rd. (not the lot for Chicago Bog, but further north on Gracie Rd, closer to Lime Hollow Rd and McLean Rd).

Dress in warm layers, wear sturdy, waterproof boots, and bring footwear traction devices (Microspikes, Nanospikes, Stabilicers, etc).  Pack water and a snack.

Email the hike leader if you have any questions.
