Special outing that will include people needing wheelchair transport
Hike rating:
Pace - Slow
Terrain - Easy
Event/Trailhead location:
Large parking lot near the boat marina. Best location to park for access to the trails in the Allan H. Treman State Marine Park (click for map). Coming from Ithaca take Route 89 north. Turn right just before the Hangar Theatre. There will be a sign for the Allan H. Treman State Marine Park on the right just before the turn. Once you’ve turned, pass the gravel entrance to the Hangar Theatre on your left and cross an intersecting park road. Take the next left turn into the set of parking lots. Staying to your left drive to the far left hand corner of the parking lot.

Hike Details:
We will be walking and rolling along an ADA compliant section of the Waterfront Trail called the Treman Park Lake Loop. If you joined us on our June outing, you will be glad to know that Environmental Educator Josh Teeter will be joining us again to explain the natural history of the area. Josh is hoping to bring a knowledgeable birder along to enlighten us about the area’s avian life
Come join us for our second Walk & Roll outing! Walk & Roll is being organized in partnership with the GIAC Seniors (ages 60+) program.
Strong volunteers will be there to push the wheelchairs, so “rollers” can just enjoy the sights and ride. Have a motorized wheelchair? Bring it along and roll with the group!
We’ll be walking and rolling for about two hours.
If you’ll be joining us using a wheelchair, please let Allen know at the email address below so we will have enough people to help out.
