Hike Details:

Hike Description

When Six Mile Creek was dammed in 1903 to supply Ithaca with drinking water, the city began buying adjacent property, and creating the Six Mile Creek Natural Area.  In 1910, another dam, twice as big, was built farther upstream and the purchase of property by the city continued. Today the woods between Coddington Road and the creek are rich with mature trees and many trails. This hike will explore some little-used, unmarked trails starting near the Burns Road entrance to the South Hill Rec Way.  We will start at 4:30pm and be out of the woods before dark.

Wear layered clothing appropriate to the weather and bring water and a snack.

Email the hike leader if you have any questions.
