Hike Details:

Montezuma Wildlife Management area is situated in the middle of one of the busiest bird migration routes on the Atlantic Flyway. Less known is the fact that it also has numerous narrow waterways where one can frequently get a closer view from the water of bald eagles, osprey, great blue heron, and snapping turtles.
This slow, easy, paddle outing will start in the Northern section of Montezuma and pass through both narrow streams and larger quiet ponds to observe the abundant wildlife in the area. Included will be a brief stop on Route 89 at the Montezuma WMA  Eagle Observation Tower, where one can view a large heron rookery and hopefully eagles as well.
Bring  your own boat, pfd and paddle.  Your pfd must be worn at all times and zipped up when on the water.
