DO NOT TAKE OWEGO HILL RD FROM 392 OVER TO THE PARKING LOCATION.

The road is seasonal low to the ground cars can get stuck.

PLEASE READ INSTRUCTION carefully as Google maps and Apple maps will stop you before arriving at the trail head.

For this hike, meet on the seasonal part of Owego Hill Rd just beyond the intersection with Adams Rd.

From 1024 Daisy Hollow Rd, turn onto the unsigned Adams Rd

Drive up Adams Rd approximately one mile until you reach the fork in the road.

Take the left fork of Owego Hill Rd to reach the wide shoulder used as the parking area for this hike, approximately a quarter mile from the fork in the road and after the road turns into a seasonal road.

Hike Details:

This hike follows the Spanish Loop as it descends along pine needle covered trails into the valley below. The trail crosses a couple of seasonal streams and follows the streams before climbing the hill on the opposite bank until it meets the Finger Lakes Trail. Just before reaching the Spanish Loop/ FLT intersection you will pass the easterly end of the Ukraine Loop. By-pass that junction and continue on to the FLT. After reaching the Spanish Loop and FLT intersection (you’ll see a green ammo can trail register on a tree at the trail junction), turn left (westerly) and continue on the FLT. Cross Owego Hill Rd and continue on the FLT until reaching the other end of the Ukraine Loop. Take the Ukraine Loop up-hill the 1.1 miles back to Owego Hill Rd. After returning to Owego Hill Rd hikers will be a short fifteen-minute road walk back to their vehicles.
