Hike Details:
This hike will take us around both Green and Round Lake and through some old growth forest and onto a grassland with a few nice views. Elevation change 500 ft.
Green Lakes State Parks outstanding features are its two glacial lakes surrounded by upland forest. Both Round and Green Lakes are meromictic lakes which means that there is no fall and spring mixing of surface and bottom waters. The lakes are very clear and reflect a bluish green on sunny days.
What better way to spend St Patrick’s Day than soaking up the Green Lakes with a bunch of people who like hiking as much as you do. There might even be cookies.
Note: This hike requires a 75 minute drive. What better way to get to know your fellow hikers than a nice spring road trip?
