The lake offers a nice circumnavigation, and if water levels are high, both the inlet and outlet are unusually beautiful with rare freshwater sponges thriving in the clear water of the inlet.
Added attractions include possible short hike at the nearby Cornell Botanic Gardens Cayuta Lake Preserve, an excellent example of bog/marsh habitat.
Bring your own equipment. Required: wearing a PFD when on the water.
