Hike Details:
Start & finish at the FLT parking area at about 371 Braley Hill Rd. Hike eastward for about 90 minutes, perhaps to the Shindagin Leanto and return. About 6 miles, moderate.
From Braley Hill Road we will hike east on the Finger Lakes Trail crossing small streams and forest roads. Along the trail we will see three foundations illustrating the distant history of farm in the area. The trail travels along the edge of the bluff overlooking Shindagin Hollow before dropping steeply into the hollow. In Shindagin Hollow we will cross a newly reconstructed bridge and hike up the other side of the hollow to the Shindagin Lean-to. We will then retrace our steps back to the starting point.
Depending on trail conditions, this may be a bare boot hike, or it may require microspikes or snowshoes.
Wear clothing appropriate for the weather, sturdy hiking boots or shoes, bring water and a snack.
