Hike Details
We meet at the FLT parking on Shindagin Hollow Road. At the bridge over the creek, we’ll hear the stories: about the washout of the bridge this summer, its rescue from the creek bed, and the Shindagin Shenanigans involved in its rebuild.
After story-time, we hike up a ravine parallel to a beautiful creek, along to the Shindagin Lean-to, and and continuing to South Rd. We’ll then retrace our steps through the lovely forest down to Shindagin Hollow Rd. This will be a leisurely hike, taking time to catch our breath and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.
This is a out-and-back hike of 3 miles rated moderate. FOR THE LONG-HIKE VERSION, SEE THE PREVIOUS EVENT ON THE WEBSITE.
Dress in layers appropriate for the weather, wear sturdy boots, bring water and a snack.
Check the website the day of the hike for any changes or a cancellation.
