Hike Details
On this hike, we’ll start at the FLT crossing of Braley Hill Rd in Shindagin Hollow State Forest and head east. After trekking down the glacially-steepened slope we reach the creek crossing. Here we’ll hear the stories: about the washout of the bridge this summer, its rescue from the creek bed, and the Shindagin Shenanigans involved in its rebuild.
After story-time, the hike continues parallel to a beautiful creek and up to the Shindagin Lean-to. Depending on group preferences, the hike may continue on to the crossing at South Rd.
This is a out-and-back hike of 5-7 miles rated moderate. (FOR A SHORT-HIKE VERSION, SEE THE NEXT EVENT ON THE WEBSITE.)
Dress in layers appropriate for the weather, wear sturdy boots, bring water and a snack.
Check the website the day of the hike for any changes or a cancellation.

Event Report
We had 4 people for the full hike of 5 miles. Three others joined us for the short hike up to the leanto (1.5 miles round trip?). I gave a long spiel about the bridge project.
