Hike Details:

Join Polley McClure  to today’s destinations, which are two preserves. We will visit Bock Harvey Forest Preserve and Rieman Woods, along the way traversing the Finger Lakes Trail (FLT). We start at Bock Harvey Forest Preserve and head west to Rieman Woods.

We’ll start at the parking lot for Bock Harvey on Rockwell Road in Enfield, heading east on the preserve trail, and then turn right on the FLT until we reach Rieman Woods. This is a loop hike with a short downhill road walk and a short out-and-back section. Total distance of just under three miles with three easy “bail out” options if you need to shorten the distance.

We will also have an option to extend the hike to the FLLT Stevenson Preserve. This will increase the length to 4 miles if we move cars, or to 5.5 miles if we add a pleasant road walk.

Bring water and sturdy hiking boots. Dress in layers that you can easily strip off as you heat up.

This is tick season. Standard recommendations include: wear light-colored long pants and long sleeve shirt, use insect repellent if you use it, check for tics/shower after your hike.

If you are unsure of navigation, email the hike leader.

Check this space the morning of the hike for any changes or a cancellation.
