Brief Hike Details
The posted trailhead location is the paved parking lot at the end of the dead end Nut Ridge Road, however the parking lots are posted as “no parking” and we will need to turn around at the lot and park on the shoulder on the south side of the road. There is plenty of room, so this should not be a problem. We will convene at the parking area to begin our hike.
This is 3.0 mile combination out-and-back/loop hike rated easy. This hike is about exploring this new FLLT property on Cayuga Lake. We will begin by walking on the road uphill and entering the woods to hike downhill along one of several rocky ravines. When dry (like now!) these ravines are filled with huge limestone boulders. They must be impressive when filled with raging water. When we reach lake level we will hike south partly along the shore and then partly through the woods, crossing a couple of more big ravines and return to our cars.
Bring sturdy hiking boots or shoes, water and hiking poles.
If you will have trouble navigating to the trailhead, contact the hike leader at the address above.
Check this space the day of the hike for any changes or a cancellation.
