Hike Details:
Calling All Forest Adventurers! Conquer the Lollipop Loop in Shindagin Hollow!
Embark on a scenic lollipop hike through the heart of Shindagin Hollow State Forest! This moderately challenging loop will have you traversing rolling hills, lush woodlands, and even a cheeky climb up Bald Mountain (don’t worry, the views are worth it!). ⛰️
Here’s the scoop:
We’ll kick things off on White Church Road, tackling a scenic uphill (steep) climb that leads us into the emerald embrace of Shindagin Forest.
Our path will weave across the legendary Finger Lakes Trail (FLT) before making a pit stop at the B3 for a chance to admire the forest’s beauty from a different angle. (No passport needed for this international forest crossing!)
After conquering Braley Hill Road (watch out for fellow explorers on wheels!), we’ll embark on the ascent to Bald Mountain.
To complete the lollipop, we’ll retrace our steps along the FLT, eventually descending back to White Church Road and our starting point.
But wait, there’s more! ⚠️
It’s tick season, folks! Gear up with light-colored, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Consider insect repellent and gaiters for an extra layer of defense. A post-hike tick inspection shower is highly recommended! ️
Dress for the ever-changing mountain weather. Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots are a must. Don’t forget to pack plenty of water and a delicious lunch to fuel your adventure!
