Event/Trailhead location:

Shoulder parking on Jolly Rd., a gravel road that runs between Route 79 and county Route 9. Jolly Rd. branches off Route 79 just uphill of the intersection of Route 79 with Route 414 in Watkins Glen. From Route 79, the trailhead is 0.4 miles east and uphill (click for map).

Hike Details:

Start & finish at the FLT trail crossing on Jolly Rd. This is a 3-mile out-and-back hike with Gundy Lee rated as strenuous due to its steep inclines. Our adventure will take us along the Finger Lakes Trail in scenic Excelsior Glen.

The journey starts at the Jolly Road trailhead for the Finger Lakes Trail, located in the Town of Burdett, Schuyler County. To get there, simply set your GPS to 3483 Jolly Road, Burdett.

Be prepared for a challenging creek crossing that could include slippery rocks. It’s important to assess your ability to handle this obstacle and to bring along hiking poles for extra support.
