Start at Bottcher’s Landing Boat Launch.   Click on the link for the map above to see photos of the launch site.  There will be a car shuttle to the take out point at 36 Grove St., Elmira, NY 14905.

This is a slow-moving river, a very picturesque section of the Chemung with a few not-too-fast sections and often some low water areas that are fun to run as we pass by the steep Palisades, a long sinuous cliff hundreds of feet high that looms over the river.

Bring your own equipment. Required: wearing a PFD when on the water.
