Labor Day weekend Camping Trip 2018 - Catskills

Friday, August 31 - Monday, September 3, 2018  •  10:00 am

Reserve your spot by November 29, 2017.

The plan is to camp in the north-east corner of the Catskills in North-South Lake DEC Campground near Tannersville, google North-South Lake Campground, Catskills and hike from there.

This campground is very popular and reservations for Labor Day weekend start on December 1, 2017. That's the day when we need to know how many sites to reserve. You can either reserve your own spot near the group if you are pretty sure that you will come or let us know your interest so we have a few extra spots to fill later with club members.

Fees are the usual: $22 per night + $9 non refundable booking fee. Cancellation is additional $9 for up to 8 days before the trip, after that, more. One campsite can hold up to 6 people, 2 tents and two cars. One campsite is $75 for 3 nights including the reservation fee. You need to bring your own tent or camper and all equipment. We usually plan Saturday and Sunday dinners together.

If you haven't done so yet, please, let Barbara know at or 607 257 6906  by November 29 if you are interested in next year's trip.

From the Website for North-south Lake Campground: North-South Lake is the biggest and most popular state campground in the Catskill Forest Preserve, offering extraordinary scenic beauty, and historical sites, such as: Alligator Rock, Kaaterskill Falls, and the former site of the Catskill Mountain House. An abrupt change in elevation occurs from about 540 feet above sea level at the base of the escarpment to approximately 2,250 feet at the site of the former Catskill Mountain House. The provinces around the lakes have long provided visitors with exceptional views of the surrounding countryside. It is said that on a clear day, five states can be viewed from the escarpment.
